Al-Sharbiny Visits the Ministry’s Pavilion at the International Exhibition and Conference for Smart Transport, Logistics, and Industry

Engineer Sherif Al-Sharbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, inspected the Ministry of Housing’s pavilion as part of the activities of the TransMEA 2023 International Exhibition and Conference for Smart Transport, Logistics, and Industry in its sixth edition. This occurred during his attendance at the inauguration, which was held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and with wide participation from local and international companies, and which was opened by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister.

Al-Sharbiny expressed his pride in participating in this prominent event, which brings together an elite group of experts and specialists in the fields of smart transport, logistics, and various industries. He explained that the exhibition represents a valuable opportunity for communication and exchanging ideas about the latest technologies and innovative solutions that contribute to enhancing work efficiency in these vital sectors.

The Minister emphasized the importance of this event in promoting partnership between the public and private sectors with the aim of developing innovative and sustainable solutions to improve the quality of urban life and provide safe living environments that meet the needs of citizens.

The Minister was accompanied during his tour of the ministry’s pavilion by his Assistant for Technical Affairs, deputies of the New Urban Communities Authority, and a number of the ministry’s leaders. The tour highlighted the most prominent efforts of the Ministry of Housing in applying smart, green, and sustainable building standards, in line with the ministry’s strategy to achieve comprehensive and sustainable urban development while ensuring the efficient use of energy and resources.

The Ministry of Housing’s pavilion included participation from various affiliated bodies, including the New Urban Communities Authority, the Central Agency for Reconstruction, the National Housing and Building Research Center, and the Utilities Sector. These bodies presented detailed displays of their projects and initiatives aimed at transitioning towards sustainable building and enhancing resource efficiency.

The efforts made by the ministry to localize infrastructure industries in Egypt, in coordination with various government agencies and the private sector, were also highlighted. These efforts aim to promote local manufacturing and support national competitiveness, especially in the fields of building materials, water and sanitation systems, renewable energy, and waste management.
