President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received President Sadyr Japarov of the Kyrgyz Republic on an official visit to Cairo.
Ambassador Mohamed Al-Shinawy, the official spokesperson for the Presidency, stated that the reception ceremonies included inspecting the guard of honor, playing the two national anthems, and taking a memorial photo. This was followed by a closed-door consultation session between the two presidents, then an expanded meeting with the presence of delegations from both countries, culminating in signing ceremonies for two memoranda of understanding to enhance cooperation between the two states.
President El-Sisi welcomed President Japarov on this first visit by a Kyrgyz president to Egypt since the establishment of bilateral relations, praising the importance of this visit in opening new horizons for cooperation. The President affirmed Egypt’s aspiration to deepen relations with Kyrgyzstan in various fields, appreciating the latter’s decision to open an embassy in Cairo as a strategic step towards enhancing the bilateral partnership, especially on the economic and trade levels.

El-Sisi pointed to the importance of the ongoing preparations for holding the meetings of the Joint Governmental Committee for Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation, as a practical framework for following up on the outcomes of this visit and strengthening future cooperation paths, reflecting the strength of relations between the two countries.
In turn, President Japarov expressed his happiness at visiting Egypt for the first time, offering his congratulations on the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum. He also affirmed Kyrgyzstan’s desire to strengthen its relations with Egypt in various fields, noting that the decision to open the Kyrgyz embassy in Cairo reflects his country’s appreciation for Egypt’s pivotal role in the Middle East and Africa, in addition to the depth of historical ties binding the two nations.
The official spokesperson indicated that the discussions addressed a number of issues of common interest within the framework of bilateral relations. Most notably, these included the participation of Egyptian companies with their extensive expertise in Kyrgyzstan’s development efforts, alongside discussing ways to develop trade and investment relations and opportunities for joint manufacturing. The talks also included enhancing cooperation between the religious institutions of the two countries to counter extremist ideology.
In the context of regional and international issues, President El-Sisi reviewed Egypt’s efforts to solidify the ceasefire in Gaza and facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid, pointing out Cairo’s readiness to organize an international conference on reconstruction and early recovery in Gaza by the end of this November. For his part, President Japarov praised the Egyptian role in achieving the ceasefire, which was crowned by the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, emphasizing the importance of implementing all terms of the agreement.
The meeting concluded with the Kyrgyz President presenting his vision of the challenges and opportunities facing the Central Asia region in light of the current transformations on the international scene.
