Engineer Sherif El-Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, conducted an inspection tour of the final phases of the “Hadaiq Tasalat Al Fustat” project, which extends over an area of 500 acres in the Old Egypt area of Cairo Governorate.
The project is located near the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, the Ain Al-Sira Lake, the Religious Complex, and the Amr ibn Al-Aas Mosque. The Minister was accompanied during the tour by Major General Engineer Mahmoud Nassar, Head of the Central Agency for Reconstruction, and a number of ministry officials and representatives of the executing companies.
The tour included inspecting the various components of the project, starting from the investment area up to the arena project. The investment area extends over an area of 131,000 square meters and overlooks the Ain Al-Hayat Lake. It contains 12 restaurants, 4 commercial malls, and 4 parking lots.
The area also includes an open space for official celebrations, comprising a Roman theater, a water fountain, and landscaping works, in addition to the adventure area equipped with service buildings, lakes, and green spaces.

The Minister then moved to the cultural area and the river area. The cultural area is located opposite the main gate of the project on Salah Salem Road and is one of the distinguished areas. It enjoys a direct view of the Civilization Museum and contains a group of squares dedicated to cultural activities, restaurants, and other services. This area also hosts annual celebrations and includes (4 restaurants and cafeterias with an area of 216 m², 3 fountains, and green spaces reaching 26,864 m²).
The Minister also visited the “Adventure Area,” which contains a group of service buildings, artificial lakes, and children’s play areas, including a play building with an area of 505 m², a number of service facilities with an area of 167 m², and open areas of approximately 97,238 m².
The tour also included the Hills and Valley area, which is characterized by its varied terrain of three hills connected by water streams with terracing systems starting from the river and reaching the hilltops. The “Al Qasaba Hill,” established on an area of 13,000 m², includes multiple facilities such as a tourist hotel, an artificial lake, pedestrian bridges, cafeterias, and waterfalls.
As for “Al Hafair Hill,” it is designed to be transformed into an integrated cultural archaeological destination by exploring and restoring the remains of the city of Al Fustat to become a tourist attraction. The “Heritage Gardens Hill” hosts diverse areas including gardens, restaurants, and terraces overlooking the lake.
At the conclusion of his tour, the Minister of Housing emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts to complete the final phase of the project within the specified schedule, directing the Central Agency for Reconstruction to take all necessary measures to ensure speedy implementation and affirming his full support for achieving this goal.
