Engineer Sherif El-Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, followed up on the developments of implementing infrastructure projects in the expansions of Sheikh Zayed City, “New Zayed.” The city is located on an area of 35 million square meters south of the Cairo/Alexandria Desert Road, opposite the Sphinx International Airport, representing a comprehensive urban extension.
The Minister affirmed that the “New Zayed” project falls within the ambitious plan of the New Urban Communities Authority. He explained that the significant demand from real estate development companies reflects investors’ confidence in the Ministry. He also reviewed the results of the periodic tours of the projects and emphasized the importance of adhering to quality standards and continuing work at an accelerated pace to achieve the desired value.
In a related context, the Minister announced the offering of two land plots for investment in Sheikh Zayed City through the investor services portal until November 15. For her part, Engineer Marwa Hussein Amin, Head of the City Authority, clarified that the offering includes a commercial land plot with an area of 2,755 m² and a medical land plot with an area of 2,536 m², aiming to enhance investment and improve services.
Officials from the City Authority conducted an inspection tour to follow up on the expansion work. This included water tanks with a capacity of 36,000 m³, feeding water lines extending 6 km, and the meter installation system using trenchless technology beneath the Al-Dabaa Axis and the high-speed train line.
Road projects were also followed up on, where the implementation rates of utility networks have reached 60%. Work is ongoing on the first phase of roads, spanning 15 km, to develop the main entrances to the city.
