Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, met on Sunday with Dr. Nazier Mohamed Ayad, Grand Mufti of Egypt and Secretary-General of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide. During the meeting, both sides discussed avenues of cooperation regarding the allocation of a number of residential units to be used as official offices for Dar Al-Iftaa in the new urban cities.
The Minister of Housing emphasized the state’s commitment to supporting the role of Dar Al-Iftaa in promoting moderate religious awareness and countering extremist ideologies.

He confirmed that dedicating premises for the institution in new cities reflects the government’s commitment to empowering its national institutions and expanding their services to reach citizens across various governorates.
For his part, the Grand Mufti expressed his appreciation for the support provided by the Minister of Housing, stressing the importance of establishing new offices in modern and border cities to strengthen Dar Al-Iftaa’s ability to fulfill its religious and social responsibilities.
He added that these efforts will help citizens access reliable religious guidance and fatwas from trustworthy sources, thereby reinforcing the values of moderation and social cohesion.
