President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received today Dr. Khaled El-Anani, the newly elected Director-General of UNESCO, in the presence of Dr. Badr Abdel Aaty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Affairs of Egyptians Abroad.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic, explained that the President began the meeting by congratulating Dr. Khaled El-Anani on his remarkable victory in the UNESCO Executive Board elections, where he secured the support of 55 countries out of 57 and was elected as the organization’s Director-General.

President El-Sisi emphasized that this victory represents a historic achievement that reflects Egypt’s distinguished standing and highlights the global appreciation for its rich cultural and civilizational heritage. He added that it also recognizes the country’s intellectual contributions and its active role on both regional and international levels. The President also expressed his gratitude to the countries that supported the Egyptian candidate during the elections.
