Campaigns to Remove Violations, Random Practices, and Development Works to Preserve the Civilized Appearance of New Cities

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, announced that several new city authorities have continued implementing intensive campaigns to confront random practices aimed at preserving the civilized character of new cities. These efforts also include development works, maintenance, and upgrading of roads and public utilities within these cities. The initiatives come in line with the directives of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, who emphasized during his meeting with the heads of new city authorities the importance of enhancing the urban appearance and optimizing resources.

The Sheikh Zayed City Authority continued its wide-scale campaigns to combat the phenomenon of “waste pickers,” in addition to removing encroachments and obstructions that hinder movement and distort the aesthetic view of neighborhoods. These operations covered areas including the First District, Third District, Thirteenth District, and Sixteenth District. Immediate removals were also carried out for violations at the service center of the Eighth District.

In New Cairo City, particularly in the “Dar Misr” Project – Phase Two in the Andalusia area of the Third Settlement, which includes 376 residential buildings with more than 9,024 units, most of which have already been delivered to citizens, city officials conducted a comprehensive inspection tour to assess the level of services. The tour included monitoring public cleanliness, ongoing maintenance of roads, pavements, and shared spaces, as well as reviewing landscaping and public services within the project.

Meanwhile, the Badr City Authority carried out intensive campaigns to remove encroachments in the First and Fifth Districts, where violations on sidewalks and public roads were cleared to ensure smoother traffic flow. The campaign also led to the seizure and removal of unauthorized vehicles that obstructed movement, as part of the ongoing plan to confront all forms of encroachment.

For its part, the 6th of October City Development Authority continued implementing intensive field campaigns to remove building violations and encroachments across various districts of the city. These campaigns included the execution of 19 demolition decisions in the Second District, along with addressing other violations in different locations within the city.

Officials of the authorities confirmed that intensive field efforts will continue to confront any violations or encroachments to preserve the organization of cities, maintain their proper appearance, and ensure a quality lifestyle for residents.
