Engineer Amr Khattab, spokesperson for the Ministry of Housing, announced that the new supplementary offering within the “Your Home in Egypt” initiative comes in response to the overwhelming demand from Egyptians abroad during the second phase of the initiative, as many were unable to secure units despite transferring booking deposits.
Khattab explained that the supplementary phase provides 2,513 residential units distributed across three main projects: 2,149 units in the “Dyarna” project, 136 units in the “Valley Towers East” project, and 228 units in the “Sakan Misr” and “Jannah” projects.
He added that these units have been allocated across about 14 new cities, including New Cairo, New Obour, October Gardens, New Mansoura, and Alamein. He also noted that the offering will start tomorrow and continue until October 9.
Regarding booking deposits, Khattab confirmed that the “Beit El Watan” project committee has introduced a “financial portfolio” mechanism, which allows those who were unsuccessful in previous or supplementary offerings to use the same deposit in upcoming offerings without losing their order or place on the waiting list.
He further pointed out that some applicants had transferred large amounts in US dollars, but the available options did not match what they were looking for in terms of space or location. Therefore, the portfolio was introduced as a flexible solution to preserve their booking rights in future phases.
In another context, Khattab denied the validity of what has been circulated on social media about requests for refunds from some Egyptians abroad. He stressed that the ministry has not received any official requests in this regard, emphasizing that such claims are nothing more than baseless rumors.
He confirmed that if there had been any intention to reduce offerings or refund money, the ministry would not have expanded the supplementary phase to include more than 5,800 land plots, nor increased the total number of plots from 3,000 to 18,000 in response to rising demand.
