Engineer Sherif El-Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, followed up on the progress and execution level of the middle-income housing project Diarna, stressing the importance of speeding up work, intensifying on-site supervision across all cities, and ensuring that targets are met.
The minister emphasized the ministry’s commitment to achieving the state’s vision of providing integrated, high-quality housing units that serve all citizens, with a focus on reinforcing sustainability principles and offering diverse housing options for different social groups. This, he noted, contributes to improving quality of life while preserving national resources.

In the same context, Dr. Abdel Khaleq Ibrahim, Assistant to the Minister, and Engineer Ammar Mandour, Deputy Chairman of the New Urban Communities Authority for Development and Construction, along with the ministry’s technical support team, carried out an inspection tour to monitor the implementation of the Diarna middle-income housing project in New October City. The project includes the construction of 494 housing units, with continuous work underway to ensure the project is completed within the set timelines.
The officials visited construction sites to evaluate the compliance of ongoing works with approved designs and reviewed both internal and external finishing stages. During the tour, they inspected two fully finished residential units: one prepared as a model apartment with three rooms, and another with two rooms. The finishes, materials, and colors were carefully selected to reflect the unique character of the Diarna project while meeting residents’ needs to the highest standards. The tour also included an inspection of the entrances of the residential buildings to ensure an outstanding housing experience.
