Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly inaugurated today the new traffic axis connecting Shebin El-Kom and Mit Khaqan in the East District during his tour of Monufia Governorate.
During the inauguration, Monufia Governor Major General Ibrahim Abu Limon provided the Prime Minister with a detailed explanation of the importance of this project. He confirmed that the axis represents a new step toward achieving sustainable development, as it aims to ease traffic congestion at the entrances to the capital and improve the level of services provided to the governorate’s residents, thereby strengthening the path of comprehensive development in the region.

The Governor pointed out that the project comes as part of a strategic plan to develop the governorate’s road network in line with the state’s vision of supporting sustainable development and enhancing citizens’ quality of life.
For his part, Engineer Ashraf Tayel, Engineering Advisor to Monufia Governorate, explained that the implementation works were carried out according to the highest standards and technical specifications to ensure the delivery of high-quality infrastructure.
He further clarified that the new axis extends with a width of approximately 24 meters, divided into two directions, each with 8 meters, in addition to a central island occupying another 8 meters. The passageway has been equipped with modern decorative lighting poles, tree planting, flower beds, and the installation of wooden pergolas — all contributing to improving the overall appearance of the capital’s entrance and reflecting the desired urban character.
