The Ministry of Housing has begun receiving applications from tenants benefiting from the Old Rent Law to book alternative units. The application period will continue for three months through the unified electronic platform or via post offices spread across the country.
The procedures are implemented in accordance with Article (8) of the law, which regulates the relationship between landlord and tenant and governs rental laws.

Applications are submitted by creating an electronic account to track the request and complete the required data, along with selecting the type of unit through an electronic form—whether for the original tenant, his spouse, or anyone to whom the lease was extended before the new law.
It is required to submit a declaration to vacate and hand over the rented property once the alternative unit has been allocated, with priority given to the most vulnerable groups such as the original tenant and his family, in order to ensure social protection under the new law.
