Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, chaired a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Support Fund to review the implementation of housing units for low- and middle-income citizens under the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative, in addition to assessing the fund’s performance and final accounts for 2024/2025.
The meeting covered progress on 1,064,828 housing units, of which 757,155 have been completed, while work is ongoing on 247,345 units. Discussions also addressed the handover of completed units and upcoming projects.
Mai Abdel Hamid, CEO of the Fund, presented a report on financing, which amounted to EGP 87.7 billion from 22 banks and 8 companies, along with direct cash support totaling EGP 10.32 billion. Since 2014, 20 announcements have been made for unit reservations.
Details were also shared on the “Housing for All Egyptians 7” announcement, where 158,000 applicants applied for units under construction, and 5,205 applied for ready-to-deliver units.
