Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, and Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, reviewed joint projects between the Ministry and the Governorate during a meeting held at the Ministry of Housing headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. Discussions included the development of unsafe areas such as the Maspero Triangle project, in addition to the revival of Historic and Khedival Cairo.
The governor confirmed the continuation of cooperation to implement projects that serve Cairo residents, while also following up on the issue of dilapidated buildings to ensure a clear mechanism for dealing with them. The meeting also addressed the development of the Maspero Triangle area, Nile-front towers, and the Magra El-Oyoun Wall, in order to track execution progress.

The renewal of the historic Azbakeya Garden was also discussed, with emphasis on preserving its distinctive architectural character in preparation for its official reopening, as part of efforts to restore the cultural and historical spirit of Cairo’s heritage areas. The meeting further reviewed the implementation of 229,086 social housing units across the governorate, in addition to the file of potable water and wastewater treatment plants in certain districts.
