Ministry of Housing Announces the Creation of a New Unit to Combat Attempts to Manipulate the Real Estate Market

Within the framework of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities’ focus on enhancing transparency, regulating the real estate market, and protecting the rights of developers and investors, the ministry highlighted the recent emergence of some manipulation attempts by unauthorized parties, which could negatively impact the interests of stakeholders in this vital sector.

Based on the ministry’s responsibility to regulate urban development activities, it has been decided to establish a specialized unit within the New Urban Communities Authority dedicated to monitoring and resolving issues faced by real estate investors and developers. This unit will work in direct coordination with central departments and various agencies to facilitate procedures and expedite problem-solving. Regular meetings will also be held with investors and developers, whether individuals or groups, to listen to their observations and suggestions, with a precise follow-up mechanism to ensure the implementation of agreements.

The unit’s responsibilities include preparing periodic reports addressing raised issues, measures taken, progress of solutions, and necessary recommendations to be presented to the relevant authorities. It will also propose policies or regulatory and legislative amendments that contribute to improving the urban investment environment, encourage serious developers, monitor investors’ contractual obligations, and resolve disputes in a way that balances the interests of all parties while protecting the authority’s rights. Additionally, coordination with other ministries and agencies will be carried out to propose joint solutions that simplify procedures, alongside measuring investor satisfaction and tracking results to enhance institutional performance.

To facilitate communication between the ministry and investors, the unit will also provide effective channels through direct meetings, electronic platforms, and a dedicated official WhatsApp number, 01140554000, for receiving complaints and inquiries. This number will be announced through the ministry’s official platforms to ensure quick responses and transparency in dealings.
