Under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to maximize the country’s resources and position Egypt on the regional and international investment map, Engineer Sherif Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, chaired a meeting of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Tourism Development to follow up on tourism projects and boost investment in this sector.
Sherbini emphasized the importance of establishing operational guidelines for the Authority to ensure the implementation of tourism projects with high standards, while facilitating procedures for investors, regularly monitoring projects, and addressing any challenges they face.
Dr. Mostafa Mounir, Executive Director of the Authority, reviewed the final account for the fiscal year 2024/2025 and highlighted efforts to rationalize spending and encourage hotel investment in tourism development projects. He also discussed proposals to amend project monitoring regulations in mountainous areas and presentations from tourism investment companies.
The meeting concluded with directives to intensify efforts, stimulate investment, and keep pace with developments in the tourism sector, focusing on providing promising investment opportunities.
