Housing Ministry: 100 Projects to Be Implemented in Partnership with the Private Sector by the End of June 2025

Dr. Abdelkhalek Ibrahim, Assistant Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities for Technical Affairs, confirmed an increase in partnerships with the private sector to reach 100 projects during the past fiscal year, representing a growth rate of 25%. He pointed out that these partnerships form the foundation for executing future plans and strategies.

This statement came during his participation in the preparatory summit for the “Cityscape Egypt 2025” exhibition, in its fourteenth edition, where he addressed Egypt’s urban growth and development as part of the Egypt Vision 2030, which prioritizes urban development to improve citizens’ quality of life, in line with the eleventh goal of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The discussion also covered state initiatives to develop the real estate sector, with the government currently working on creating a real estate platform aimed at organizing the market and expanding real estate export activities. He also highlighted the social dimension of projects, particularly in providing or securing ownership for over two million housing units for all social segments, aiming to balance population growth with social responsibility.

He added that the Egyptian real estate market is witnessing significant development due to accumulated experience, which requires exploring innovative financing methods, such as real estate funds, to support developers’ roles and ensure efficient execution. He emphasized that any development project must generate an economic return that contributes to building a diversified, knowledge-based economy.

He also highlighted the importance of national projects, such as the development of the North West Coast area and East Cairo, stressing that the New Alamein City has become a prominent regional tourist destination, reflecting the economic and social value of these national projects.

He concluded by emphasizing the transformation of new cities from merely residential projects to economic and investment hubs that attract investments and create job opportunities. He explained that the strategic goal for these cities is to turn them into centers of economic and investment activity in the future.
