The minister emphasized the importance of these projects in alleviating pressure on old roads and improving traffic flow, as they connect the city to new urban expansions and accelerate urban development. The Minister of Housing also reviewed the status of the Sadat Bridge on the 45 Axis, which aims to construct a two-level bridge connecting Sadat Street to the International Coastal Road at the intersection with Mostafa Kamel Street. Sadat Street is considered a vital traffic axis in Alexandria, linking the International Coastal Road to the Agricultural Road. The bridge is approximately 2.6 km long and includes three traffic lanes in each direction. The project aims to enhance traffic movement, reduce travel times between different roads, and optimize the use of the tunnel and bridges at the intersection of Mohamed Anwar Sadat Street with Corniche Road.

Additionally, the minister reviewed the Omar Suleiman Axis project, known as the western arc of Alexandria’s ring road, which extends approximately 20 km with six traffic lanes in each direction. The project starts at kilometer 40 on the Alexandria-Cairo Desert Road, passing through Borg El Arab International Airport and the Borg El Arab industrial zone and reaching the International Coastal Road. The project is designed to facilitate vehicle movement to and from Borg El Arab Airport and the North Coast while connecting various development areas to the Desert Road and the regional road network. It also aims to reduce traffic congestion within Alexandria. The project has been divided into three sections, with national companies working in parallel to complete it efficiently.

After the meeting, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny stressed the importance of adhering to the scheduled deadlines for project completion and ensuring coordination with relevant authorities to overcome any obstacles. He also emphasized intensifying efforts to work around the clock until the projects are completed.
