Shereef El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, reviewed the proposed strategic development plan for the West Ras El Hekma area on the North Coast during a meeting with the Chairman of Dar Al-Handasah Consulting. Officials from the Ministry of Housing and the New Urban Communities Authority also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Shereef El-Sherbiny discussed the proposed vision for the development of West Ras El Hekma, highlighting the area’s development objectives, available opportunities, and key advantages. According to an official statement, he also addressed the region’s environmental characteristics, logistical capabilities, and other factors contributing to developing this promising location.
The meeting also covered the proposed architectural style and the specific areas included in the project, leveraging the environmental nature of the region located south of the International Coastal Road. This approach establishes diverse zones and projects within the development plan, including several artificial lakes to create water features.
Shereef El-Sherbiny emphasized establishing a series of lakes south of the International Coastal Road to maximize land utilization. He also referred to the lands transferred to the New Urban Communities Authority on the Northwestern Coast for further development.
After the meeting, the Minister of Housing directed the team to finalize the agreed-upon observations and prepare the final proposal for the development plan of West Ras El Hekma. The plan should focus on economic details and project components and ensure all implemented developments are integrated.
