Progress Updates and Project Development

During the meeting, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny was briefed on the ongoing work in several key areas of the project, such as the markets, Al-Qasaba, the investment zone, and the heritage area. He emphasized accelerating construction, addressing previous observations, and ensuring regular field inspections. Major General Engineer Mahmoud Nassar explained that the project comprises eight main zones, including the cultural district, which is located opposite the main entrance of Fustat Hills Gardens. This district features a central axis leading to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, cultural activity spaces, and various restaurants.

Features of the Cultural District

The Cultural District in Fustat Hills Gardens includes the construction of a main entrance, four restaurants, cafés, three fountains, infrastructure works, and landscaping over an area of 26,864 square meters. The district is divided into three central hills:

  • Al-Qasaba Hill: Features a tourist hotel, service facilities, parking spaces, an artificial lake, seating areas, a café, and a waterfall.
  • Al-Hafayer Hill: It is being transformed into an archaeological site and being tractioned, with a walking path linking service buildings.
  • Heritage Gardens Hill: Contains terraces, restaurants, and a wooden viewing platform overlooking the lake, with detailed plans for walkways and gardens.

Investment and Recreational Zones

The project includes a 131,000-square-meter investment zone overlooking Ain Al-Hayat Lake, featuring 12 restaurants, four shopping malls, and four underground parking garages. Additionally, it will host a large celebration area with a Roman theater and a water fountain.

A dedicated adventure zone will feature service buildings, artificial lakes, and green spaces. The park will also house a 60,000 square meter market area, along with the development of the Egyptian Club area.

With over 14 diverse entry gates, the project also encompasses the renovation of the courtyard surrounding Amr Ibn Al-As Mosque, reinforcing its significance as a significant historical and cultural landmark in Cairo.
