Minister of Housing and Utilities Sherif El-Sherbiny held a meeting to follow up on the implementation of the presidential initiative “Decent Life” projects in Assiut and Minya Governorates, in the presence of representatives from the executing companies. The minister emphasized the importance of tracking project progress and stressed the need for regular meetings to accelerate execution rates, especially with the first phase of the initiative nearing completion, to expand the base of beneficiaries.
Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny highlighted the significance of ensuring that completed projects are delivered and operational to meet citizens’ needs. He noted the impact of these projects on the quality of life, particularly drinking water and sanitation projects. The Minister of Housing also stressed the importance of increasing reliance on local products in project implementation and directed that a timeline be established for completing the projects under the “Decent Life” presidential initiative.
The meeting reviewed sanitation projects, treatment plants, and water networks in the governorates of Assiut and Minya, while discussing the implementation status and the required coordination to accomplish them. At the end of the meeting, the minister called for intensified field follow-up and regular weekly meetings to monitor project progress, as well as tracking supply and installation operations.
