Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, inspected the Olympic City Center in Hangzhou, China, during a tour of several business areas and major projects. The purpose of the visit was to explore management, operation, and marketing systems to benefit the New Administrative Capital in Egypt. He was accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Housing and representatives of the Chinese company CSCEC, which showcased its expertise in construction, operation, and maintenance, with a focus on green and smart building technologies. The tour included a visit to the Hangzhou International Exhibition Center and the Olympic City, which hosted the G20 Summit in 2016.
Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny listened to a detailed presentation on operational and maintenance systems, including entry and exit control, facilities monitoring, personnel and vehicle management, and energy consumption tracking using artificial intelligence. The objective of the visit was to draw on successful experiences and acquire skills for managing major projects in Egypt, such as the Central Business District and the Central Parks in the New Administrative Capital, which includes 20 towers, among them the Iconic Tower, with the support of the Chinese company CSCEC.
Engineer El-Sherbiny announced that the Ministry of Housing, through the New Urban Communities Authority, is implementing the “Capital Park” project in the New Administrative Capital. It is considered the largest central park in the Middle East and the second-largest globally, spanning approximately 1,000 acres with a length of over 10 kilometers. The park offers world-class recreational areas and easy accessibility via pedestrian and cycling paths. The Minister also inspected monitoring and control centers as well as the Olympic stadiums. Meanwhile, CSCEC officials explained that the Olympic Parks Project in Hangzhou is the main venue for the 19th Asian Games.
