The New Administrative Capital Is a Dream Realized with Integrated Infrastructure and Sustainable Growth

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, affirmed that the New Administrative Capital has become a tangible reality, made possible by the strong political will of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Speaking during the “Masa’a DMC” TV program, the minister pointed out that the capital is equipped with a fully integrated educational infrastructure that includes more than 8 universities and 20 schools covering various educational levels.

He further explained that residential units have been provided to ensure the comfort of employees and workers. El-Sherbiny noted a growing demand for both housing and investment in the New Administrative Capital, as reflected in indicators of rising demand for residential units.

He added that the Administrative Capital for Urban Development Company — the entity responsible for managing the project’s lands — is currently one of the most successful companies, generating significant profits.

The minister pointed out that the complete foundational infrastructure of the capital has been finalized, including water, sewage, and electricity networks. The city also hosts several projects under the Ministry of Housing, positioning it as a modern model for sustainable urban development.

He highlighted that the Government District in the capital includes all ministries and governmental authorities, along with the headquarters of the Prime Minister and the Parliament building.

El-Sherbiny emphasized that the achievements on the ground have exceeded expectations in terms of speed and planning. He recalled that the project began in earnest at the end of 2017, when the area was nothing but a barren desert with no infrastructure whatsoever. Despite that, construction and development work commenced at a rapid pace, without imposing any financial burden on the state.

He concluded by stating that the project’s execution was financed through the proceeds from land sales within the capital, reflecting a sustainable economic model for the entire initiative.
