Port Said Governorate is preparing to reopen applications for the Social Housing Project in the extension of the Emirati District, as the number of applicants who have paid the reservation deposit has not exceeded 1,500, while the total number of available units reaches 3,000. Each unit is priced at EGP 750,000 and will be repaid over 20 years at an 8% interest rate. The project includes eligible applicants from the 9,000-unit initiative (Blue Booklet) who have not received units since 2016.
The Governor of Port Said also announced the postponement of launching an investment housing project in Port Fouad until the required number of applicants for the social housing project is completed. The cost of a unit in the Port Fouad investment project is EGP 990,000, with a quarter of the amount required as a down payment.
In a separate development, the New October City Development Authority continues to expand its housing initiatives, including the Presidential Initiative “Housing for All Egyptians,” which features 55,000 units for low-income citizens, and the Green Housing Project, which aims to deliver 14,000 units in the West Airport area. Overall, approximately 104,000 residential units are currently under construction.
