Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, announced the start of receiving the electronic application form for citizens covered by the Law on the Rental of Premises and the Regulation of the Relationship Between Landlord and Tenant, commonly known in the media as the “Old Rent Law.”
Applications are to be submitted through the Digital Egypt Platform — digital.gov.eg starting from 11:00 AM on Monday, October 13, 2025.
The minister indicated that the data required in the electronic application form is simple and straightforward, allowing citizens to complete the submission easily and in a short time. This aligns with the ministry’s goal of making the application process accessible to everyone.

He also clarified that the creation of electronic accounts for citizens covered by the law has witnessed significant turnout, with 54,452 accounts created so far. He added that the registration process through the Digital Egypt Platform will continue until the end of the submission period.
Multiple technical tests were conducted on the electronic application form in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to ensure its efficiency and user-friendliness before being made available to the public, guaranteeing a smooth and simplified application experience.
