Urgent Decision to Ban the Sale and Rental of Residential Units in These Areas

Mai Abdel Hamid, CEO of the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Support Fund, has announced a series of new measures to enhance judicial enforcement’s effectiveness. This announcement came during her statements following the launch of the annual workshop on the judicial enforcement system, attended by representatives from new city authorities, housing directorates, and judicial enforcement officers.

Mai Abdel Hamid pointed out that the primary objective of activating judicial enforcement is to ensure that social housing units reach their rightful beneficiaries and to prevent any violations or illegal exploitation of these units.

She also emphasized that the system aims to protect beneficiaries’ rights and prevent violations in distributing or using subsidized units. Additionally, she praised the vital role played by judicial enforcement officers in city authorities and housing directorates, contributing to the efficient implementation of Social Housing Law No. 93 of 2018.

She explained that these efforts are part of a more significant effort to achieve social justice, ensure that low-income citizens benefit from these units, and prevent manipulations or violations that could deprive eligible individuals of their right to subsidized housing.

Transforming Judicial Enforcement into a Fully Integrated Electronic System

The CEO of the Social Housing Fund also announced a plan to transition the judicial enforcement system into a fully electronic system. This move aims to ensure faster and more transparent procedure implementation, thereby reducing the chances of manipulation and violations.

Additionally, she stated that fines imposed on violators will be increased to prevent any attempts to rent or sell subsidized housing units illegally.

Mai Abdel Hamid confirmed that these new measures and stricter penalties will apply to all social housing units across various governorates and new cities. This ensures that government support is used solely for its intended purposes, maximizing the benefit for those eligible for subsidized housing.
