Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Sherif El-Sherbiny announced the completion of sending SMS notifications to applicants for residential units under the “Housing for All Egyptians 5” initiative designated for low- and middle-income groups. The total number of eligible applicants reached 298,430, while 268,759 were deemed ineligible. Additionally, 10,430 applicants paid the down payment but did not submit their applications. Investigations will be conducted for 4,000 applicants who applied for housing units without priority classification. The grievance submission and application registration period will be open from March 23, 2025, to April 24, 2025.
The Minister of Housing and Utilities emphasized that the high demand for “Housing for All Egyptians 5” reflects the success of the presidential initiative and citizens’ trust in the Social Housing Fund. A total of 762,000 citizens purchased the terms booklet, 589,000 paid the booking deposit, and 571,000 completed their registration through the online portal. Meanwhile, Mai Abdel Hamid, CEO of the Social Housing Fund, stated that the SMS messages sent to applicants included the screening results and the next steps for applicants.
The CEO of the Social Housing Fund clarified that citizens could check their application status using their national ID number through the designated link. She further explained that acceptance remains preliminary until the completion of customer grievances and the determination of priorities based on the available housing units. A follow-up SMS will be sent to inform applicants of their priority status.
