A cooperation protocol was signed between the Giza Drinking Water and Wastewater Company and the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University to enhance development and scientific research. The signing was attended by several officials, and a memorandum of understanding was agreed upon to launch the CIRQUA project under the European Union’s PRIMA program. The project aims to improve the efficiency of water reuse and promote sustainable soil management through innovative biotechnologies. This initiative aligns with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the National Strategy for the Drinking Water and Wastewater Sector 2050.
Dr. Sayed Ismail, Deputy Minister of Housing, emphasized that the protocol aims to strengthen the link between scientific research and technology in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030, particularly in the fields of drinking water and wastewater. He highlighted the importance of collaboration with research institutions to boost production efficiency and enhance services. He also reaffirmed the Ministry of Housing’s support for new research and the development of water systems, urging affiliated entities to strengthen cooperation with research centers.
