The development authorities of El Shorouk, Badr, and New Sohag cities have launched campaigns to remove building violations, encroachments, and unauthorized occupations in several areas, in coordination with the Construction Police. This initiative comes as part of efforts to curb unregulated practices and preserve the distinctive urban character of Egypt’s new cities.
Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, confirmed the continuation of follow-up, monitoring, and demolition campaigns. He highlighted that city authority officials have been assigned responsibilities in this regard, emphasizing that these tasks fall directly under their jurisdiction. He also made it clear that there will be no reconciliation for building violations that occurred after the issuance of the Reconciliation Law, and that any identified violations will be removed regularly, with the necessary legal measures taken.
In this context, Engineer Bassam Mohamed Fadl, Head of El Shorouk City Authority, stated that several construction violations were identified and removed in different plots, including Plot 63, Neighborhood 7, District 3 East; Plot 3, Northwest of the Club; Plot 13, Neighborhood 2, District 4; Plot 23, Neighborhood 6, Zone 1 (apartment buildings); and Plot 60, Neighborhood 5, District 1 East.

Engineer Bassam Mohamed Fadl also mentioned that the campaign targeted non-compliant commercial shops, resulting in 15 official reports for road occupation and the confiscation of materials. Additionally, wooden formworks for columns and ceilings at several sites were removed, and all equipment and construction materials were seized.
