Engineer Ashraf Fathy, Head of the New Damietta City Development Authority, announced that a series of campaigns have been carried out to halt and remove building violations on residential plots. These efforts are part of the Authority’s ongoing mission to address and prevent construction infractions. The campaigns resulted in the dismantling of wooden frameworks and the suspension of unauthorized construction at multiple locations, including Plot No. (54/217) in District (17), Plot No. (18/62) in District Two, and Plot No. (1/41) in District One, all of which were found to be in breach of building regulations and licensing terms.
The Head of the Authority also reported that contractors’ equipment and construction materials were confiscated and transferred to central storage facilities. Legal measures are being taken against the violators. He emphasized the importance of intensifying inspection campaigns and conducting regular patrols across all neighborhoods of the city to ensure order and to immediately address any infractions. He further stressed that there will be zero tolerance for random or unauthorized construction activities in order to maintain the urban aesthetic and planning standards of the new cities. These campaigns are conducted under the supervision of several officials within the Authority.
