Dr. Mahmoud Gaith, President of the Egyptian Society for Urban Planning, stated that Egypt is witnessing its largest housing initiative aimed at providing suitable accommodation for all citizens. He explained that this initiative follows the establishment of a robust infrastructure capable of accommodating large populations.
In a phone interview, Dr. Mahmoud Gaith pointed out that this large-scale housing initiative resulted from the widespread social acceptance of the previous housing offerings, which received significant interest from various segments of society. He also emphasized that the development of infrastructure and social approval aligns with a commitment made by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in 2015, which is set to continue until 2030, to expand this project.
He added that the Egyptian state aims to provide adequate and secure housing for all segments of society. He noted that in the past, housing units were offered with the primary objective of meeting the minimum needs of individuals. In contrast, today, Egypt is introducing housing projects designed to improve the quality of life. This initiative contributes to social and economic advancement while also ensuring environmental sustainability.
