Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, visited the low-income housing project in the Al-Ajizi area of Tanta city as part of his tour of Gharbia Governorate today.
Madbouly affirmed that the Al-Ajizi housing project reflects the state’s commitment to improving the quality of life for its citizens and transforming informal areas into organized urban communities that provide decent and safe housing for Egyptian families.
For his part, Eng. Khaled Siddiq, Chairman of the Urban Development Fund, explained that the project has been fully completed as part of the fund’s plan to develop unplanned areas in Gharbia Governorate. He pointed out that the Al-Ajizi housing buildings project includes six buildings being implemented by the Armed Forces Engineering Authority, under the national project for the development of city capitals, which aims to construct 500,000 housing units across the country.
Siddiq highlighted the project’s components, which include the construction of six residential buildings comprising a total of 480 housing units, built on an area of 2.3 feddans. Each building consists of a ground floor and nine upper floors, in addition to the construction of a mosque and two outlets for selling essential goods—ensuring an integrated residential environment for citizens, especially those with limited income.
Following that, the Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation visited one of the housing units to inspect the final finishing quality firsthand. He praised the high standard of execution, emphasizing that the project serves as a successful model for what state-sponsored housing projects for low-income citizens should embody in terms of urban design, integrated services, and prime location.
