Prime Minister Follows Up on Ras El-Hekma City Development and Compensation Plans
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, chaired a meeting today to discuss the progress of the first phase of the Ras El-Hekma City development project and the compensation allocated for eligible residents in the area.
According to the official spokesperson for the Cabinet, Counselor Mohamed El-Homsany, the meeting included an update on the relocation process for the first phase of the project in the Shams El-Hekma area, which falls under the jurisdiction of Matrouh Governorate. Governor of Matrouh, Major General Khaled Shuaib, noted that temporary construction regulations have been approved for Shams El-Hekma, and a land-use plan, along with a detailed layout proposal for the area, has been submitted to the head of the New Ras El-Hekma City Authority.
Governor Shuaib also mentioned the formation of a tripartite committee, comprising representatives from the Ministry of Transportation, Matrouh Governorate, and the Matrouh Survey Directorate, to identify existing homes within the first phase, which spans 10,000 acres. The committee will address any arising issues promptly. He added that a decision has been issued to allocate 10,000 square meters for the construction of an experimental school in Shams El-Hekma, and relevant authorities, including the Ministry of Housing and the Educational Buildings Authority, have been notified.
The spokesperson also stated that the meeting covered the process of transferring the first phase of land to the Emirati company involved in the project and the progress of providing utilities to the Shams El-Hekma area.
During the meeting, the status of utility network construction in Shams El-Hekma was reviewed. The urgent phase, which includes the first sector covering 2,000 acres, is ongoing, with external roads around land plots being defined and construction work continuing.
Minister of Housing, Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, presented images showcasing the development progress in the urgent phase at the construction site. He also discussed the second sector, covering 1,800 acres, with 300 acres in the urgent phase, and the third sector, which covers 1,800 acres, with 200 acres in its urgent phase.
The meeting underscored the ongoing efforts to complete the first phase and ensure timely compensation for local residents, while progressing with the city’s infrastructure development.
