Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic, shared on Tuesday a series of photos documenting President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s reception of the President of the Republic of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, at Al-Ittihadiya Palace.
The meeting included the signing of several memorandums of understanding covering areas of technical cooperation in water resources management, agriculture and food, investment promotion, mutual visa exemption for holders of official passports, as well as diplomatic cooperation to support the establishment of a diplomatic institute in Uganda.
The photos also showed the joint press conference held by the two presidents after the conclusion of the talks, during which they reviewed the outcomes of their discussions on common issues between the two countries.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received his Ugandan counterpart, Museveni, in a formal reception ceremony that included the playing of the national anthems of both Egypt and Uganda. According to the presidential spokesperson, a closed meeting between the two leaders was followed by an expanded session attended by both countries’ delegations.
During this session, the two sides explored ways to strengthen the historic bilateral relations between Egypt and Uganda, with a focus on developing cooperation in political, trade, and investment fields, in line with their shared commitment to advancing the interests of their brotherly peoples.
