President El-Sisi Stresses the Importance of Providing Data and Information to the Media

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a meeting with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Engineer Khaled Abdel Aziz, Head of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation, Engineer Abdel Sadeq Al-Shorbagy, Head of the National Press Authority, and Ahmed El-Moslemany, Head of the National Media Authority.

Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy stated that President El-Sisi began the meeting by expressing his appreciation and respect for those working in the media sector, praising the vital role of Egyptian media in strengthening national identity and shaping public awareness. He also emphasized the importance of informing the public about developments at both local and international levels, highlighting national achievements, improving public taste, and reinforcing societal values.

The President reaffirmed the state’s commitment to supporting freedom of expression and encouraging all national perspectives within the Egyptian media framework, which contributes to fostering cultural diversity and intellectual openness.

The spokesman explained that the President directed the preparation of a roadmap for developing Egyptian media, drawing on the expertise of specialists to keep pace with global transformations. This would enable national media to fulfill its role effectively in line with the vision of the modern state and the New Republic. He also stressed the need to provide information to the media, especially during crises of public interest, to ensure balanced coverage without exaggeration or neglect.

The President also focused on the importance of empowering qualified young talents for media work and implementing training programs for media professionals. He emphasized the need to concentrate on national security concepts and openness to different ideas, thereby promoting constructive dialogue within Egypt’s media system.

The meeting reviewed the ongoing efforts to develop the Radio and Television Union (Maspero), including its affiliated channels, as well as the steps to modernize national press institutions. In this regard, the President approved the proposed cash allowances for journalists and instructed the resolution of the end-of-service gratuity issue for Maspero employees.
