President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has ratified Law No. 164 of 2025, which regulates specific provisions related to the rental of properties and defines the relationship between landlords and tenants. The official decision was published in the Official Gazette.
In addition, President El-Sisi approved an amendment to Law No. 4 of 1996 through Law No. 165 of 2025. This amendment includes the application of the Civil Code provisions to properties that have never been previously rented, as well as those whose rental contracts have expired or will expire in the near future—without granting either party the right to remain in the property afterward.
