He also reviewed the measures undertaken in line with the sector’s development strategy, such as issuing legislation to transform the Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority into a public economic authority, developing a competitive model to attract investors—both major corporations and startups—and addressing financial and investment-related obstacles.

The meeting also discussed ongoing efforts to expand onshore and offshore exploration operations for oil and natural gas, as well as steps that could position Egypt as one of the most attractive destinations for investment in this field. President El-Sisi directed the intensification of efforts to broaden oil and gas exploration activities while leveraging previous successful experiences.

On another note, the minister presented a report on his recent participation in the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC). The report highlighted the ministry’s commitment to enhancing Egypt’s presence at global energy events in order to promote available investment opportunities to international companies. Meetings and discussions held during the conference also emphasized Egypt’s energy sector priorities and the importance of regional cooperation as a key pillar for achieving energy security.

President El-Sisi stressed the need to offer additional incentives and facilities to investors in the oil, gas, and mining sectors to increase investment volumes and boost production in a way that meets rising local demand and supports the country’s development path. He also underscored the importance of localizing industries related to these sectors to achieve further strategic improvements.
