President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a meeting today with Major General Mokhtar Abdel Latif, Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI).
According to Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesperson for the Presidency, the meeting focused on President El-Sisi’s review of the progress in implementing key activities and projects across the factories and companies affiliated with the AOI, covering both civil and defense industrial sectors.
During the meeting, the AOI Chairman explained that their strategic direction centers on boosting local manufacturing and localizing modern technologies. This involves building partnerships with leading local, regional, and international companies to transfer expertise and advance national industries. The overall goal is to solidify Egypt’s position as a leading industrial power in the region.
The organization’s strategic plan is based on several pillars, including updating production lines in line with the Fourth Industrial Revolution to increase manufacturing and technological efficiency. It also emphasizes the training and development of human resources to ensure they remain capable of adapting to rapid technological changes. In addition, the AOI supports scientific research efforts in collaboration with specialized research institutions.
The AOI also seeks to strengthen military manufacturing to meet the needs of the armed forces and boost export opportunities. Furthermore, the organization aims to introduce new industries that respond to both local and international market demands. All these efforts align with the state’s direction toward achieving self-sufficiency and increasing export rates.
