President El-Sisi Emphasizes the Importance of Localizing Industry in the Production of Desalination Plant Supplies

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a meeting with Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister; Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities; Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning; and Major General Ahmed Al-Azazy, Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority.

Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy stated that during the meeting, President El-Sisi was briefed on the implementation progress of the ongoing projects under the first phase of the presidential initiative “Decent Life” to develop the Egyptian countryside.

Particular focus was placed on the construction of water and sewage treatment stations and networks in targeted villages. The President stressed the importance of completing these projects according to the established timelines, without any delays.

The Spokesman also added that President El-Sisi reviewed the progress of the strategic plan for seawater desalination during the meeting. The Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities presented the efforts made by the state in this field since 2014, highlighting the existence of desalination plants in the governorates of Matrouh, Beheira, South Sinai, Red Sea, Port Said, and Alexandria.
