President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has directed the implementation of mechanisms to support projects aimed at increasing the strategic stockpile of essential commodities, stressing the importance of maintaining sufficient reserves and achieving self-sufficiency. He also called for the expansion of agricultural land and increased agricultural production to safeguard food security. This came during a meeting with the Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning and the Executive Director of the “Future of Egypt” Authority for Sustainable Development.
During the meeting, the President reviewed updates on the projects of the Future of Egypt Authority for Sustainable Development, which aim to provide high-quality agricultural products at reasonable prices and to achieve self-sufficiency in strategic goods. The status of the strategic stockpile of essential commodities was also presented to ensure the needs of citizens are met. Presidential Spokesperson Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance the availability of strategic goods and to expand storage capacities, including the grain silo storage project.
