President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has directed the acceleration of efforts to localize petrochemical and mining industries in Egypt, along with enhancing efforts to attract investments to support this vital sector.
This directive came during a meeting held on Sunday, attended by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly; Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister and responsible for industrial development and Minister of Transport and Industry; Engineer Hassan El-Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade; Engineer Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources; and Dr. Ali Hamed, CEO of the Environmental Affairs Agency.
According to the official spokesperson, the President emphasized during the meeting the importance of projects in the petrochemical and mining sectors being implemented by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. These projects aim to maximize the added value of the country’s natural and mineral resources, meet local market needs, and open up new export opportunities. They also play a role in advancing related industries, thereby contributing to job creation and increasing economic returns to achieve sustainable development.
