President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call today from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, the official spokesperson for the Presidency, stated that the two presidents discussed regional developments and the ongoing Israeli escalation in the region.
Both leaders emphasized that the current escalation could have catastrophic consequences for the region, jeopardizing regional security and stability and placing the livelihoods and futures of the region’s peoples at severe risk. They warned that the Middle East could spiral into total chaos, the repercussions of which would affect all countries without exception.
They also stressed the urgent need to halt all military operations immediately and resume negotiations between the United States and Iran under Omani mediation, viewing it as the only viable path toward a peaceful resolution of the current crisis.
