The Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities has officially announced the start of withdrawing residential units from individuals who fail to comply with the contractual terms of the Social Housing program. This step is part of efforts to regulate the housing market and ensure that government support reaches those who truly deserve it. The action falls within the framework of the “Housing for All Egyptians 5” project, which opened its registration to all citizens, including people with disabilities.
The Ministry further clarified that one of the violations that will result in unit withdrawal is renting out the unit without obtaining written approval from the New Urban Communities Authority, which is considered a serious offense and will lead to eviction.
If the unit is not received within the agreed-upon timeframe, the Social Housing Fund has the right to cancel the allocation. Additionally, any discovered forgery in the submitted documents will result in the immediate withdrawal of the unit, along with legal actions taken against those involved.
Turning the residential unit into a commercial or administrative office, or transferring its ownership without written consent from the New Urban Communities Authority, will also lead to revocation of the unit.
The Ministry of Housing will form judicial committees to conduct regular inspection campaigns on social housing units and take the necessary legal actions against violators.
