The Media Center of the Egyptian Cabinet has announced the launch of 113.1 thousand new residential units as part of the seventh phase of the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative. This offering includes 54.8 thousand green housing units, in response to the high demand from citizens, with the number of applicants reaching 2.2 million people so far.
The center clarified that the new offering targets low- and middle-income groups, with unit sizes ranging from 75 to 90 square meters. Priority in booking will be given to previous applicants from the fifth announcement. Applications and booking payments will begin on July 28, 2025, through automated post offices. The booking deposit will be EGP 25,000 for ready-to-deliver units and EGP 50,000 for units under construction. Payment can be made through a mortgage financing system over a period of 20 years, with an interest rate of 8% for low-income individuals and 12% for middle-income individuals.
The statement added that the initiative has already benefited around 633.5 thousand low-income individuals, with financial support exceeding EGP 10.3 billion. The initiative has also contributed to creating nearly 4 million direct and indirect job opportunities, through the participation of around 2,000 construction companies.
The World Bank has affirmed that this initiative is the first of its kind in the region in the field of green social housing, while international reports have praised the state’s success in providing affordable housing and reducing informal settlements from 40% to 25%. The initiative has also helped boost the real estate sector’s growth by 12%.
