The October Gardens City Development Authority, affiliated with the New Urban Communities Authority, announced the offering of 53 craft workshops and 10 commercial shops for sale through a public auction under a utilization license system for a five-year term, renewable. This offering aims to provide job opportunities and operational spaces for diverse activities within the city.
The Authority stated that the craft workshops vary in size between 13 and 29 square meters, while the shops range from 27 to 213 square meters. These spaces are allocated for multiple activities within the “First Priority Souq” area of the city.
The auction sessions are scheduled to be held in two phases: the first on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, covering 28 workshops and 5 shops, and the second on Thursday, October 2, 2025, including 25 workshops and 5 shops. Both sessions will be held at the City Authority headquarters at 12:00 noon.
The announcement indicated that the terms and conditions booklet is available at the Authority’s headquarters for EGP 299 per workshop or shop, with a mandatory deposit of EGP 30,000 for each unit to participate in the auction, to be paid before the scheduled session date.
The winning bidder is required to pay 10% of the final value as a continuous guarantee for the contract duration, renewable every three years, in addition to a contribution to the Board of Trustees and administrative expenses, which must be paid immediately once the auction is awarded.
The Authority clarified that the five-year utilization system grants beneficiaries greater flexibility in managing commercial and craft activities, with the option to directly inspect the units during official working hours. The auction will be conducted in accordance with Law No. 182 of 2018 on the regulation of public sector contracts and Law No. 3 of 2014.
