Engineer Ashraf Fathy, Head of the New Damietta City Development Authority, announced the launch of a campaign to detect and eliminate illegal drinking water connections in the Third District and the Central Area. The campaign resulted in the discovery of 34 unauthorized water connections and the disconnection of 12 water-boosting motors operating without meters. The seized equipment was confiscated, and legal action was taken against the violators. Fathy emphasized the continuation of such campaigns to monitor violations and protect public utilities, stressing the strict enforcement of laws to safeguard state rights.
Engineer Ashraf Fathy Mahmoud also conducted an inspection tour of the residential districts (First – Second – Fourth) in the city to monitor the compliance of cleaning, landscaping, and maintenance companies with the work plan. He stressed the importance of enhancing service quality and maintaining the city’s aesthetic appearance. He also underscored the need for readiness of equipment, review of commercial store licenses, and firm action against any encroachments or unauthorized use of public spaces.
