In line with the directives of Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, authorities have reaffirmed the importance of improving service quality and maintaining ongoing development and efficiency-enhancement projects in new cities.
In this context, the concerned city development authorities have implemented several projects focused on upgrading the sanitation system, improving roads and utilities, beautifying green spaces, and rationalizing resource consumption to enhance the overall urban appearance.

The Hadayek October City Authority announced significant progress in its expansion plan to use treated wastewater for irrigating green areas instead of fresh drinking water. This system now covers more than 3.5 million square meters of green spaces—exceeding 75% coverage so far.

Additionally, green spaces in the Dar Misr and Sakan Misr projects in Downtown and 1185 Buildings in Al-Nakheel 2 are now being supplied with treated water. The goal is to reach 95% coverage of green areas with treated water after extending the service to ten residential compounds.
El Shorouk City
In El Shorouk City, efforts continue to implement a comprehensive plan to upgrade roads and essential utilities, ensuring citizens’ comfort and preserving the city’s unique urban character.
City authority officials confirmed that works are underway to upgrade the Western Road and the Central Road to improve traffic flow and make movement within the city easier.
Eng. Bassam Mohamed Fadl, Head of the City Authority, stated that the development plan includes all service aspects, such as enhancing public parks and green areas, beautifying squares, and improving overall sanitation levels—supporting a better quality of life for the city’s residents.
New Salhiya City
Meanwhile, Eng. Tarek Gamal El-Din, Head of the New Salhiya City Authority, conducted a field tour to follow up on the efforts of the Agriculture Department. The tour included inspecting garden and tree maintenance activities, planting new shrubs in several areas, and directing teams to increase irrigation and pruning efforts while maintaining the cleanliness of green areas. These actions aim to ensure a healthy and attractive environment that reflects the city’s urban character.
New Fayoum City
In New Fayoum City, Eng. Sherif Abdel-Badea, Head of the Authority, followed up on the implementation of a comprehensive development plan covering roads, main axes, and squares throughout the city. He noted that the works include rehabilitating asphalt layers, organizing sidewalks, upgrading traffic and directional signs, and developing main entrances and axes according to the highest standards of infrastructure quality and safety.
