Ministry of Housing Prepares Thousands of Affordable Housing Units Across Egypt

The Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities is preparing thousands of housing units for low- and middle-income citizens across various cities in Egypt as part of the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians.” This initiative, which includes units for low- and middle-income families, as well as units within the “Sakan Misr” project, is seeing rapid construction progress, with many nearing completion. The Ministry, along with the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) and city agencies, is accelerating efforts to officially launch these units.

Green Housing in 10th of Ramadan City

During a site inspection by Minister of Housing Sherif Shorbiny, progress was observed in the “Housing for All Egyptians” project in 10th of Ramadan City. The minister noted that 43% of the green housing units have been completed. Shorbiny emphasized the government’s commitment to providing suitable housing in fully serviced urban communities, particularly for young people and low-income families.

88,000 Units in New Obour City

As part of the minister’s ongoing supervision of the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative, Shorbiny inspected several completed housing models in New Obour City. More than 88,000 units are currently under construction in the city. The minister checked the status of utility connections to the residential buildings and the progress of service facilities. He urged the rapid completion of the units and adherence to the designated timelines, ensuring that completed areas are delivered to applicants promptly.

Final Preparations in 15th of May City

In 15th of May City, efforts are underway to complete site coordination for the “Housing for All Egyptians” project, which includes 91 buildings and a total of 2,184 units for middle-income families. The city’s administration is working on site landscaping in the Narges area, while road paving, utility installation, and green space development are also ongoing to enhance the local environment as part of a comprehensive plan.

90,000 Units in New October City

Phases five and six of the “Housing for All Egyptians” project in New October City include 90,000 housing units, currently being built across three zones (A, B, and C) on 3,000 feddans in the West Airport area. The city administration recently announced that 85% of the units have been completed, with ongoing construction, finishing work, and infrastructure installation, including roads and landscaping.

Middle-Income Housing in Capital Gardens City

The Ministry of Housing also reported the construction of 100,000 units in Capital Gardens City as part of the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative. These units cater to several target groups:

  • Low-income families
  • Middle-income families
  • Workers in the New Administrative Capital
  • Middle-income housing units

During his inspection of the ongoing projects, Minister Shorbiny urged contractors to intensify their efforts to speed up the construction of residential units, as well as the development of roads and utility connections, to keep pace with construction progress.
