he Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities is advancing infrastructure and road projects in the Sheikh Zayed city expansions and the Green Belt area in 6th of October City.
During his inspection tour today, Minister Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny emphasized the importance of setting specific timelines to expedite the completion of infrastructure and road work in both the Sheikh Zayed expansions and the Green Belt area. He stressed the need for ongoing monitoring to accelerate the development of these regions, maximize land use, and create various investment opportunities.
Water Supply to Sheikh Zayed Expansions
According to a ministry statement, infrastructure and road projects are underway in the Sheikh Zayed expansion area, covering 8,336 acres, which were added to the city under Presidential Decree No. 77 of 2017. Additionally, a 1200 mm water line is being constructed to supply the area with water from the Sheikh Zayed station.
Roads in the Green Belt Area
In 6th of October City, infrastructure and road development work is progressing in the Green Belt area, covering 12,494 acres, as per Ministerial Decree No. 118 of 2017, with the aim of establishing a fully integrated urban community.
During his visit to road development and maintenance projects in 6th of October City, the Minister directed that standard maintenance for road networks be prioritized. He also emphasized the importance of landscaping, cleanliness, and waste removal to ensure that the roadways remain in top condition at all times.
