Ministry of Housing Announces Date for Trial Implementation of the National Real Estate ID

Engineer Amr Khattab, spokesperson for the Ministry of Housing, stated that the recent meeting with the Minister of Communications was important to discuss the implementation of the National Real Estate ID. He explained that this system will enhance the organization of Egypt’s real estate market. The ID will serve as a unique digital fingerprint for properties, making it easier for citizens to determine the legal and structural status of a property before buying or selling. This, in turn, will help reduce fraud and manipulation—especially benefiting foreign investors.

He pointed out that the Ministry’s ongoing digital transformation efforts led to the launch of the “Misr Real Estate” platform, which offers accurate data and information about properties. This platform simplifies procedures and promotes transparency.

He revealed that the trial implementation of the National Real Estate ID will begin six months after the issuance of the law and its executive regulations. The initial phase will cover properties constructed by the ministry in new cities, as these developments already have organized and integrated databases.

Khattab confirmed that the final criteria for identifying the properties included in the pilot program will consist of street, neighborhood, district, and residential unit. He added that the National Real Estate ID will be distributed through electricity bills to make it easily accessible to citizens. He stressed that the Ministry of Housing is working closely with the Ministry of Local Development to ensure the success of the implementation and its expansion to all real estate projects across the country.
