Engineer Mohamed Salah El-Din Mostafa, Minister of State for Military Production, received Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, at the ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. During the meeting, they discussed the newest developments in cooperation between the two ministries, particularly within the presidential initiative “Decent Life,” which includes 691 projects. The meeting reviewed the progress of water and sanitation projects implemented by companies under the Ministry of Military Production for the benefit of the Ministry of Housing. Minister Mohamed Salah emphasized the importance of these projects in improving citizens’ living conditions.
Minister Mohamed Salah highlighted the significance of coordination between the Ministries of Military Production and Housing to accelerate the completion of “Decent Life” projects across all governorates, noting that a substantial portion has already been executed. This follows directives from President El-Sisi and the Prime Minister. He also mentioned that preparations are underway to hand over several of these projects to the relevant authorities. The collaboration between Military Production and national institutions aims to maximize local resources and enhance reliance on domestic products, supporting comprehensive development strategies that benefit citizens by leveraging the ministry’s technical and technological expertise.
Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, stressed the importance of monitoring cooperative projects with the Ministry of Military Production, particularly under the “Decent Life” initiative. He pointed out the necessity of addressing any challenges hindering implementing drinking water and sanitation projects in Egyptian villages to ensure maximum resident benefit. He also appreciated the Ministry of Military Production’s role in military manufacturing. He emphasized the importance of utilizing surplus production capacity for civilian manufacturing and participation in national projects. Additionally, he stressed the need to expedite implementation programs for contracting companies working on water and sanitation projects to achieve the initiative’s objectives.
After the meeting, both parties agreed to conduct regular follow-ups through a monthly meeting to monitor the progress of “Decent Life” projects and resolve any obstacles affecting cooperation between the two ministries.
